Kin Gift of Giving gives to Salvation Army at Christmas

The inaugaral Gift of Giving project will put many smiles on faces for less fortunate this Christmas.  Members of the Yorkton Kinsmen, Yorkton Kinettes, and Kin Kids handed out $10 gift cards to shoppers in Walmart on the evening of Friday, December 2nd as a Gift of Giving.  Willing shoppers went about the store shopping with the Kin gift cards picking out gifts and returning them to the clubs after making the purchase. The Kinsmen and Kinettes received back 5 full shopping carts of toys valued at over $2200 that Kin will be donating to the Salvation Army to make a childs Christmas very Merry this year!!

 

 

Radiothon

The fourth annual GX94 and FOX FM Airwaves for Health Radiothon was a huge success raising $22,720. The annual 36-hour radiothon was held April 26th and 27th, with both radio stations broadcasting live from the Parkland Mall.

Telemiracle Donates $200,000 toward the purchase of Digital Mammography Equipment

 

Yorkton September 7 – At a special ceremony in the main boardroom of the Yorkton Regional Health Centre, Ron Hanishewsky and Joan Steckhan of The Kinsmen Telemiracle Foundation presented a cheque for $200,000 to The Health Foundation, to be used for the purchase of digital mammography equipment.

“Last winter we were approached by The Health Foundation about contributing to their campaign for digital mammography equipment. It was clear that the purchase of digital mammography equipment would have a very significant impact for women and their families in east central Saskatchewan,” said Ron Hanishewsky, Kinsmen Saskatchewan Governor.

NEW KINETTE CLUB

The Best Western Parkland Inn was the site, Saturday night, for the formation of this community's newest service club. Twenty-two Yorkton women were sworn in as the charter members of the Kinette Club of Yorkton, a volunteer service organization dedicated to bettering the community by promoting service, fellowship, family values and national pride. The new Kinette club is now a member of a national organization with clubs in 500 Canadian communities.
